American People Should Make The Right Choice On November 4
October 6, 2008
Today we are posting a comment from Alex in Belgrade, our regular reader. It is in response to some of the articles we’ve been posting about the crisis in Georgia and the US election campaign:
I find it completely outrageous that the Bush administration has occupied the self righteous moral high ground with respect to the conflict between Georgia and Russia, when only a few months ago it was instrumental and very much the catalyst for the illegal break up of Serbia’s sovereign territory to form a quasi state called ‘Kosovo’, which even today is not recognised by some major EU & NATO countries. Incidentally, this fact – the refusal by many big nations, like Spain, for example to recognise Kosovo – is kept very quiet and out of the Western media, in the hope that the problem will just go away in the years to come and eventually everyone will have to accept this illegal act.
A huge – no, let me rephrase that – a colossal mistake has been made that Europe will pay for. It has opened up a fast track route into the EU member states for major terrorist groups, criminal gangs, drugs and arms traffickers.
Kosovo has never been an independent state, even though the PR machines in the West have been hard at work, creating deceptive and ludicrous stories that Serbia had seized Kosovo in the past and integrated it into its territory, to justify the US actions. The fact of the matter is that Kosovo is rich in uranium and it does not take a rocket scientist to realise why this region was so important to the US and why a huge US military base has been built there!
The Georgian conflict was instigated by Georgian forces, invading South Ossetia and firing the first shots in anger, to provoke Russia to retaliate in the heavy handed manner that it did. I draw a similarity to sticking a red hot poker in the rear end of a sleeping bear. What kind of response do you think you would get?
This kind of selective political interference from the Bush administration has not created stability around the world. On the contrary, it has promoted and rewarded so-called ‘democratic leaders’ and terrorist linked organisations for their criminal activities. It is no wonder that the world has changed for the worse and is now a more dangerous place to live in than in the past. The US policies have clearly demonstrated that it cannot police the world or set the standards for ethics and morality. The fact is that the Bush administration simply has no morality whatsoever.
I just hope that with the forthcoming presidential elections around the corner common sense will prevail and the American people would make the right choice. I hope it will happen for the sake of the world and our children’s future! It will be a bitter pill for the Americans to swallow and accept the first black US president, although if they choose the alternative we will all face a catastrophe.

Excellent. I agree completely.
nonsense
uranium is hardly in short supply. Current usage would give the entire world another century of supply without recycling or discovering new deposits. The main deposits are in Canada and Australia, not really at risk to the west.
how about srebrenica? systematic organised slaughter, no? probably just made up by the lying western media then.
The UN is more of a corrupt farmers market than the highest legal court. Libya appointed the human rights chairman in 2003!
