To Readers Of StirringTroubleInternationally: Let’s Start Interacting

December 4, 2008

Hi there, everyone! This the editor speaking.

We, at Stirring Trouble, have decided to launch a new section on our website, A Word From The Editor, so that we could start interacting with all of you out there on a regular basis. You know, tell you about our plans, inform you about things going on behind the scenes and even ask you, directly, what you think about some of the ideas we have and whether they will work for you.

Send your views to this section and we might even include them in our competition for the best comments on our articles so that you could win a cash prize. And that might not be bad, would it?

Today I would like to tell you about some of the changes we have made on Stirring Trouble. You may have noticed it already that we have added some new sections to the website, including, obviously, the one you are reading at the moment, Word From The Editor. We also added two new sections: Let’s Be Cynical and Consumer Watch and combined the sections Entertainment and Media into one – Enter/Media.

I hope that I don’t need to explain what the first two sections are all about, considering that they already have quite a few articles posted on them from our back catalogue. So feel free to click on the headings at the top of the home page and get a dose of some healthy cynicism and find out about some of the tricks that big companies get up to make more money out of their clients.

As regards the section Enter/Media, we are still wondering whether the heading sounds right and whether we should not simply make it clear and simple: Entertainment/Media. What do you think? Drop us a line and give us your thoughts on the subject. And tell us which other new sections would you like us to launch?

I would also like to tell you that in the near future we are planning to launch reviews of events of the week in the form of radio broadcasts. One of our editorial staff would record a 5-minute witty commentary that would be posted as an article so that you can listen to it. Just like our music section that we are planning to expand soon. So, in a way, we are going to have elements of radio added to Stirring Trouble.

Also, you may have noticed that we are posting more and more unashamedly humorous and satirical articles on our website. I’ll be honest with you: we are actually gearing up to launch our second website, Stirring-Trouble-Everywhere, next February and are trying out some of the material that would be used on it. Do send us your comments on what you think the new site should look like and what sections it should contain. And those of you, who think that they have a comedian in them, send us your funny sketches and humorous takes on events of recent past. We are going to have a section on our new website with material sent in by the readers. To give you some incentive we will be selecting the three best jokes, sketches and funny comments and awarding the winners with cash prizes in February. First prize would be £500, second prize £400 and third prize £300. So go on, send us your stuff.

That’ll be all for now from me.

Wishing you all the best,
Alexander Nekrassov
Editor
