Britain Is Becoming Unfit To Live In. It’s Probably Time To Leave

Britain Is Becoming Unfit To Live In. It’s Probably Time To Leave Pavel Korchagin writes: I am seriously considering leaving Britain and settling somewhere else. It is no longer a nice place to live in. It has changed in the last 15 years beyond all recognition. For the worse, that is.

Where do I start? Well, first of all Britain is no longer value for money, like it was fifteen years ago when I came here. In those days you paid for what you got: good quality affordable goods that were still made in Britain or in Europe, excellent service across the board, sound financial advice, proper banking. You could receive good education and good health service. Public transport was running well then, crime was at acceptable levels and you could walk into practically any pub and have a pint of beer and enjoy the atmosphere without going bankrupt or running away from the noise and the bad vibe.

London was not overrun by rich thugs from all over the world 15 years ago, traffic congestion was bearable and there were not that many people on the streets. It was just like any big city, but with its own graceful pace of life. Political correctness was raising its ugly head then but it was still manageable and even tolerable.

Britain was friendly and affordable 15 years ago. Oh yes, and English was still spoken and understood widely and you did not have to explain every little thing to people ten times in row, like you have to do now on many occasions. It often seems that for a lot of people English is not just second, it is a non-language.

Britain is falling apart, with London leading the way. Value for money has gone out of the window. You pay through your nose for things that are not worth even a tenth of their asking price. The quality of service has simply collapsed, across the board, and even the Russians, who have never been used to good service in their own country, are now complaining that Britain fares worse than Russia in that area. You would see shop assistants in London and other cities actually trying to avoid shoppers and waiters in restaurants ignoring customers who are waving to them, pretending that they do not see them.

British banks are treating their customers as if they are their enemies and you cannot find a decent builder or plumber or carpenter anymore who would not rip you off and do a good job. Public transport has turned into a national embarrassment and the London Underground has become the worst underground transport system in all of Europe, if not the whole world.

Taxi drivers across the land have become rude and unprofessional and bus drivers appear to be under an impression that they are on a Formula1 racing track. Crime has reached levels when the police simply ignore it and the authorities massage statistics to hide it. Everyone knows that it is rising fast but everyone pretends that it is not.

The once famous British education system, both private and state run, has crashed and the National Health System has entered a stage when it is unable to cope with the number of patients and is overburdened with bureaucracy and dragged down by waste of funds and corruption.

You cannot any longer buy decent goods in Britain which has started to resemble one giant car boot sale, in terms of quality, and a one big rip of act, in terms of prices. The goods you are offered are mostly made in China and the quality of them is simply bad. Gone are the days when you could easily buy some garment that you liked. And even the leading department stores have turned into giant warehouses, mostly filled with overpriced junk that no sane person would buy.

Even the British pop music has collapsed and it is unbearable to hear the terrible screams of the stars of the last decade who have no talent for music at all. The BBC, once renowned for its quality programmes, has started to resemble a third world broadcaster, unable to make a single decent show while misusing billions of licence payers’ money.

The British pound sterling, once the envy of the whole world, has lost its standing and its value and will probably be soon swapped for the euro, if the Labour government has its way.

Which brings me to the current government in Britain. I will be brief on this point: in all my life I have never seen a more incompetent and preposterous government than Gordon Brown’s team. And that is saying a lot, considering that I have lived in the Soviet Union for nearly 20 years. To bankrupt a country in a matter of months takes some doing. If the British people do not get rid of Labour soon I suspect that Britain will join the ranks of developing nations and will simply be swallowed by the European Union.

lol your so right, i have lived in london all my life but then i realised that each country is just a business with small businesses in side them, so if you look at what you get from the company “England” you will soon come to the conclusion that you are getting a really bad deal, trust me way it all up and england is one of the worst countries to live in europe.

I have left that sad company called england and i’m now living in Madeira (portugal) and i must say its really a lot better here, you get value for money, There are a lot of good english people coming over here and are finding jobs fast, they dont even need to learn the language as most people here speak english, the crime rate is %0 and the food and weather is great.

English good people who want to have a good safe life should sell your homes and buy in madeira, trust me you won’t regret it.
