Open Letter To All The People Who Play Games On The Internet. And PC Games Generally

Open Letter To All The People Who Play Games On The Internet. And PC Games Generally All of you people - boys and girls, men and women, who play games on the internet and PC games generally for hours every day: get a life! Stop wasting your time. Because time is money. Big money. Because if you would have spent the time you’ve wasted on all those stupid PC games on something worthwhile, like getting a new qualification, or learning a foreign language or reading a good book, you would have been able to earn more money.

But that is not all. Some people, who get hooked on the virtual world of PC games, start to lead their lives as if they are themselves living in a virtual reality. They get weird  names for themselves, talk in a strange way, experience random fits of rage and even become aggressive and violent. Because PC games mostly generate bad vibes and bad vibes harm peoples health, causing problems such as failing eyesight, loss of hearing, irritation of the skin and even baldness. Because when you sit for ten hours in front of a computer, playing games, you are getting a lot of bad vibes hitting you, especially when you go on the web.And one more thing about PC games: they suck you into a world of make belief which has nothing to do with real life. If you would have really experienced violence and gone through the trauma of the real battlefield you would not have fallen for this cheap imitation of life, produced mostly by sad pathetic people who sit in their windowless offices all day and come up with stupid ideas.

It is just like all those TV directors, who make violent films. Do you really think that Quentin Tarantino or Martin Scorsese have even been on the receiving end of a punch in the face or have ever stared at a barrel of a gun? Of course they did not. They would shit themselves if someone really tough would simply approach them. Let alone have a go at them.

As an investigative reporter I have met hardened criminals, terrorists and murderers and I can tell you that they have nothing in common with all those film characters or characters from PC games. They are nasty, they are vile, and they are disgusting. And if they go for you they make sure that you suffer, and they see to it that you suffer for as long as possible. Because they are psychopaths and scum. And there is nothing remotely romantic or exciting about them. They are always boring and totally uninteresting. they do not even know how to enjoy the money they steal from others. They blow it on drink, drugs and prostitutes and think that it is a great life that they lead. And they are all cowards.

I once had to confront a Russian master criminal, who was posing as banker and I was helping him out in London, having been told by official people from Moscow that he was clean and was a legitimate businessman. Later I found out through my contacts that he was one of the biggest gangsters in Moscow and had about forty bodyguards and probably ordered to whack dozens of people. But it so happened that he owed me money. Not a lot in his view - several grand - but a lot for me, because I always earned my money by hard work. I did not steal it from others. So I caught that guy in one of London’s casinos and cornered him. And I said to him: look, Misha, you either return my money now or I smash your face in. How about that?

He turned pale and started to shake, and then gave me back my money. Because it was no longer a game for him. Because he would have had his face smashed in. His own face, not somebody elses as he was used to.

So that is what real life is all about. If you get beaten up or shot, it hurts. And even the big criminals are afraid of the pain. But not in PC games. In PC games you never get hurt. You just whack people right, left and centre and feel nothing.

And real wars are not about running around and popping the enemy in hundreds. And looking brave and tough. It is about that sticky feeling of fear in you, it is about seeing your comrades blown to bits beside you, it is about being covered in real blood and pieces of somebody’s scalp and it is about losing limbs and getting wounded and potentially never being able to walk again.

War is not a game. It is about life and death. And only pathetic wankers think that they know war becuase they have seen films about it or played a PC game or two.

Real tough guys do not play shoot-em-up computer games or watch violence on screen. They know that the real thing is not pretty. They avoid watching violent films and playing violent PC games because they know that it has nothing to do with real life. It is for people who create their own cosy worlds and think that they live their lives dangerously.

So this is my message to all of you, PC gamers: cut the crap! Stop wasting your time. Leave this rubbish to kids and to total brain-deads. Start living properly. You will soon notice the difference. If only because you will feel better and make some money.

And may be even meet someone special.

Good luck to all of you who will try to break out of that stupid prison!

I wouldnt say your son “never plays PC games and does not go on the Internet to join other gaming fanatics”.

We play together nearly every day!

But that said, I spend a maximum of 2 hours a day playing games. I usually play them in the late evening, after 10pm. Same with Alex.

Gaming is just a hobby, we all have a life, girlfriends, studies, work etc.

Most of the other time, I just work or study for my exams!

    Nice article :o)

Well… I’ve been beat up and I’ve whipped some ass AND I play video games.

But I must agree w/a lot of what you said. It’s true. When you get into a zone you are gone! The days start melting into one and your wrists and thumbs will start hurting. But I’m sexy, Brotha. If video games start to interfere w/my sexy then I have to stop. This is why I haven’t played in a YEAR.

Of course, I wasn’t broke when I was playin’ ‘em… Maybe I need to fire up the ol’ XBox, huh? ;o)
