Ben Delicious reports from Toronto: With Mayor Rob Ford engulfed in a drug scandal, having finally confessed to sniffing coke last year while supposedly on the piss, here’s a question for you: should anyone who has used or is still using dope be allowed to hold high elected office? The reason I ask this is because so many politicians all across the liberal democracy land have been confessing to have been ‘experimenting’ with drugs in their younger years – or have refused to comment on allegations that they’ve been taking dope in the past, or present. (We’ve got several world leaders currently suspected of using coke and refusing to say anything on the subject.)
First of all, let’s make it clear that there’s no such thing as ‘experimenting with drugs’. You either take them or you don’t. It’s as simple as that and only Bill Clinton had managed to come up with that weird formula of his when he supposedly smoked dope – but didn’t inhale. (Mind you’ he’d had sex with Monica bird, but hadn’t as well.) And, secondly, don’t fall for that rubbish that many people have ‘experimented with drugs’ in their youth. I remember in my student years we treated drug users in our midst as nutters who had ‘crossed the line’. So for the dope lobby to pretend that half if not more of all young people have tried drugs is just rubbish. It’s a bit like saying that most people tend to experiment with paedophilia or bestiality in their younger days. You know, shagging kids and hedgehogs but then deciding that it’s not a good thing. Especially when it comes to hedgehogs .
Dopeheads have always been in a minority. Apart from maybe in Sodom and Gomorrah, but we know what had happened to them. Unfortunately though in minority, drug users are very vocal, having lots of friends in high places and in the entertainment industry who help them champion their disgusting cause.
Anyway, people, who have used drugs, are technically able to commit any hideous crime and stoop to any lows. Not to mention that they can be blackmailed by others who know about their drug-fuelled past and forced to do despicable things. So they should never be allowed to hold positions of power. Otherwise there would be even more weird decisions taken by governments and crazy laws passed by legislators than we are already witnessing.
Allowing anyone, who’s been a drug addict in the past, to occupy a government position is similar to appointing a total lunatic to run a nuclear facility. It sort of doesn’t make sense.
Make no mistake, the current economic turmoil in the world is the result of crazy policies instituted by people with seriously unstable minds and sick and twisted priorities. And as all dopeheads, they are pathological liars. Time to put them through lie detector tests and, if found using dope, they need to be removed. No ‘ifs’ or ‘buts’.
