Adam Lovejoy reports from London: Hey you, lefties, how about turning Nigella Lawson into a role model for girls and young women? She’s got it all really: the dope, the booze, the anti-depressants, the supposed tyrant of a husband, the cook books and TV shows where she’s licking all those spoons suggestively. Oh, yes, and the atheism as well, for Nigella went public some years ago to state that she stopped believing in God after her sister had died.
Beautiful liberal package, everything’s there for the impressionable girls and young females to take on board.
And now that Nigella herself went on a damage limitation exercise, choosing American TV, to insist that she was tarnished by that fraud court case, when her recreational habits had been revealed by two of her now former staff, the Grillo sisters, the sisterhood can now throw their considerable weight behind her, turning her into a martyr of the progressive lifelstyles. And demand that Nigella is left alone and gets on with her life, hosting her cooking shows and selling her cooking books in their millions. Her private life is of no concern to others, feminists are already screaming.
The funniest thing of all, of course, is that now Ms Lawson says she’s petrified how her new found notoriety might affect her children. This is really rich. This has got more calories in it than her fatty dishes. Imagine, she’s worried that her children might get the wrong idea out of her smoking dope in front of them. Feminists and leftie c..ts generally must be oozing with sympathy and support. Nigella is their sort of woman, a role model in the making.
This is so hilarious that it doesn’t even need any additional material thrown in. But the comedy crowd are keeping silent. Find nothing funny in it. A decent woman in the spotlight is found out to use dope. So what? It’s tragic, innit? Especially as lots of these comedians like to experiment with dope themselves. Or battle with drug taking, very publicly, to keep their cred intact among their idiot fans who laugh hysterically every time an F-word is thrown at them or bollocks told and retold. And the most progressive ones out of the comedy crowd are actually ridiculing people who are having a laugh at Nigella’s expense.
The big question now is whether the America TV will allow Nigella to have her own cooking show. Supposedly, America is very religious and does not take lightly celebs who do dope. Which is rubbish, of course, as the US is to religion was syphilis is to romance. Not very helpful, if you get my drift. So I’m guessing Ms Lawson will get her show, both here and across the pond. And the progressives will see to it that she becomes even more popular, the sick and twisted bastards that they are.
