Al Qaeda Is Behind The Current Chill In Europe. A Chilling Prospect For 2010
January 6, 2010
Adam Lovejoy writes: So now we know: Al Qaeda is responsible for the Big Chill that has hit Europe and is making life hell for so many people. A chilling prospect emerges for this winter, and beyond. You may ask: how do I know this? The answer is simple: StirringTroubleInternationally has received a recording of Al Qaeda New Year address to all the infidels of the world where the group lists most of its biggest atrocities of the past year and tells about its evil plans for the year that has just started. The broadcast has not been made public, due to some technical hick-ups, and that was why it was decided by the terrorists to send it by courier to all the leading media outlets that would made its contents known to as many infidels as possible. According to Al Qaeda, it was responsible for all...

Of Terror Alerts In Britain. And Their Connection To The War In Iraq
September 5, 2009
Adam Lovejoy writes: You might not know this, but Britain always remains at a state of heightened terror alerts, going up and down in seriousness, depending on the information that the intelligence servives are getting. It has been so for the last six years, with levels staying high since the attacks of 7/7 in 2005. Every time I hear about these terror alerts a nagging question comes back to haunt me: why is it that no one seems to make a connection between the illegal war in Iraq that Tony Blair and his government had started six years ago and the heightened activity of Muslim extremists on British soil? As Mr Blair himself used to say in his days at 10 Downing Street, let us be tough on crime and on the causes of crime. So why should we not be tough on the current wave of terrorism and on...
Is Al Qaeda Preparing To Attack Turkey? It Looks Possible
February 8, 2009
Martin McCauley writes: The recent conflict in Gaza has stoked anti-Israeli sentiment in the Middle East. It appears to have increased the possibility of al Qaeda attacks against Jewish targets in Turkey. In the light of this El Al, the Israeli airline, has suspended flight to and from Antalya. A Turkish newspaper reported that the CIA had informed Israeli and Turkish authorities that al Qaeda members had entered Turkey to carry out attacks on Israeli tourists. The report also mentioned that al Qaeda may also be trying to attack airports at Istanbul, Izmir and Antalya. Originally the reason given for suspending El Al flights to Antalya was that Turkish authorities would not permit armed Israeli guards on board. Another Israeli airline, Sun D’Or, has announced it is suspending flight...
Will Al Qaeda Succeed in Penetrating Israel?
December 17, 2008
Martin McCauley writes: One of the unintended consequences of the downfall of Saddam Hussein has been the removal of the barrier that had been preventing the penetration of Sunni mujahidin into neighbouring countries. These Salafist Islamists have now trickled into Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. They have two goals: to spread Salafist beliefs and to create a space from which they could attack Israel. These Islamists have already established a foothold in the Gaza Strip. They are linking up with Israeli Arabs to launch attacks on Israel. The Jaysh al-Islam (Army of Islam) has already conducted anti-Israeli operations from Gaza. They are more radical than Hamas and the Islamic Jihad. The Salafists do not conceal their affinity to Al Qaeda. They regard Palestine as an ‘Arab dowry’ and proclaim...
Has Al Qaeda Appointed Its Station Chief In China?
December 5, 2008
Martin McCauley writes: Claims are being made that Al Qaeda has appointed its ‘station chief’ in China to oversee its operations there. On November 16, Muhammad Uyghuri claimed that Osama bin Laden had chosen a new leader for Xinjiang autonomous region and the rest of China. He named him as Abdul Haq Turkistani, a Chinese citizen. Who is Muhammad Uyghuri and who is Abdul Haq Turkistani? They are, presumably, pseudonyms of Al Qaeda operatives. Muhammad Uyghuri can be translated as Mohammad the Uyghur (a Muslim Turkic minority in Xinjiang and Kazakhstan). Abdul Haq Turkistani is Abdul Haq from Turkestan (Xinjiang makes up part of East Turkestan and Central Asia includes West Turkestan). Hence the names can be taken as symbolic. Al Qaeda and the Taliban have some time ago moved their...
Jordan: Which Way Will It Go?
November 22, 2008
Martin McCauley writes: Jordan – the country, not the B-list celebrity former Page 3 model – does not appear often in the news, much to its relief. However, it is facing two formidable challenges: how to cope with the fallout from the war in Iraq and the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Half the population of Jordan consists of Palestinian refugees. The former King Hussein was a major player in the Arab-Israeli imbroglio. He sided with Western efforts to resolve the conflict and was astute enough not to turn the Arab world against him. In return, Washington poured in billions of dollars of aid. One consequence of that was that Jordanian security services were among the best in the region. King Hussein permitted Islamic radicals to remain in Jordan and plot the overthrow of...
The US War On Terror: Is Al Qaeda Winning?
October 2, 2008
(By Martin McCauley.) A recent BBC World Service poll in 23 countries has produced a sobering result: most respondents thought that the US War on Terror has either strengthened Al Qaeda (30 per cent) or had no effect on it (29 per cent). Even more worryingly, a majority of people in Egypt and Pakistan, who have taken part in the poll, said that they have actually gained a positive view of the terrorist network. Why have America’s policymakers failed to deliver a victory over an enemy that is a military dwarf compared to the US giant war machine? When Osama bin Laden launched his jihad, or holy war, against the infidel Americans and the West in general in 1996 he was aware that Al Qaeda (The Base) could not succeed on its own. So his aim was to inspire Muslims worldwide to become jihadists...
America Takes On The Role Of World Peacekeeper. Without Asking Anyone
September 29, 2008
We have recieved the following comment from one of our regular readers (“fiji islands”): It seems only the United States have the right to militarily intervene in the world’s hotspots. The God-blessed land of baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet is the only nation, it believes, that has the moral authority to convene military operations or “preempt” possible attacks – anywhere in the world. It even denies other countries the right to act in self-defense, as was clearly the case with Russia in South Ossetia. As for Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan, well, do as we say, not as we do. The US National Security Strategy states: ‘The United States must defend liberty and justice… for all people everywhere.’ But who will guard us from the guardians?...
