Comedians And Money Men. It’s Up To Bloggers To Take The Stage

Comedians And Money Men. It’s Up To Bloggers To Take The Stage

Now that the money men have taken us all for a ride and misused our money, the only way to have a go at them is to mock and ridicule them. And who better to do that than comedians of all shapes and sizes and political orientation. Because most comedians always tell us that they take a strong stand against vested interests and big business. That is how they are, you see. They are independednt minded people and would laugh at anything. I have been hearing a lot recently about stand-up comedians in Britain supposedly making life very tough for the hated bankers. You know, mocking and ridiculing them and generally taking the piss, like comedians do. To listen to some people, top names in stand-up comedy are now mercilessly going after the money men and taking no prisoners. So I looked into this...

1500 Articles Later: We Present The First Ever Piece Posted On Stirring Trouble

Now that we have amassed a wopping 1,500 articles on our website we decided that it would be a good idea to look back and see what was the first piece that had been posted on our website. Ever. And guess what: it turned out to be a humorous take on politicians. And we present it to you today because it concerns a man who is in the news now, tipped to become the first ever President of the European Union. Tony The Stud. Or Why It Is Always Good To Mock Politicians It has always amazed me how Tony Blair managed to avoid being mocked and ridiculed during his 10 years as Prime Minister. From the moment that ‘straight kind of guy’ got into 10 Downing Street in 1997 he did and said ridiculous things most of the time. Remember his take on Princess Di when she died in a car crash? Tony quickly...

Monty Python Flying Circus Hits 40. Stirring Trouble Is Not Impressed

Monty Python Flying Circus Hits 40. Stirring Trouble Is Not Impressed

Let me say something that will upset a lot of nerdy types out there, who consider themselves to be connoisseurs of humour and comedy: Monty Python Flying Circus, the supposedly ground breaking humorous TV comedy series and it’s cinematographic spin-offs, was never anything special and not even particularly funny. Most of it was simply childish and amateurish and consisted of a bunch of odd looking men talking endlessly in silly voices, coming up with meaningless absurdities and dressing up in women’s clothes. I would even go as far as saying that the Monty Python team, consisting of Graham Chapman, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and John Cleese, was one of the most politically correct comedy acts, in a liberal, left-wing sort of way.I have never actually understood myself...

Like To Watch Bad TV Comedy Shows? Beware Of Disastrous Consequences

By chance I stumbled a couple of days ago on a repeat of the programme on the box listing the top 50 supposedly funniest TV comedy moments of all time. As voted by the British viewers. The programme was half way through, so I caught only the top twenty best moments – out of the list of fifty. Oh what a shame, I hear some of you saying who might have seen the whole programme. It was such great fun and the hilarious moments were chosen from some of the best TV comedy shows ever. Not to mention that the whole thing was presented by that comedy genius himself, Richard Wilson, of One Foot In The Grave fame. Yeah, sure, I say to that, sarcastically. Judging by the top twenty comedy moments that I have seen I do not really think that I have missed anything worthwhile from the previous batch. But...

One Thousand Articles Later: We Present The First Ever Piece On Stirring Trouble

Now that we have amassed 1,000 articles on our website we decided that it would be a good idea to look back and see what was the first piece that had been posted on our website. And guess what: it turned out to be a humorous take on politicians. And we present it to you today because the G20 summit has just ended and it is a good occasion to have a laugh at the political leaders who take them too seriously.Tony The Stud Or Why It Is Always Good To Mock Politicians It has always amazed me how Tony Blair managed to avoid being mocked and ridiculed during his 10 years as Prime Minister. The British Comedy Awards Was An Embarrassment. Let’s Hear The Names Of The Judges

The British Comedy Awards Was An Embarrassment. Let’s Hear The Names Of The Judges

So, now that we know all the glorious details of the British Comedy Awards (BCA) ceremony, including, of course, the names of all the winners, it would be a good idea if we could find out the names of the judges. Yep, that would be a handy thing to know, considering that most of the awards went to people and programmes that did not really deserve them. Let’s face it, comedy buffs: Harry Hill’s TV Burp should not have really qualified for the Best Comedy Entertainment Programme of 2008. No way did this amateurish and primitive show that uses clips from TV sitcoms and dramas to poke fun at them qualify to be the best comedy programme on British television this year. And yet the judges, all twelve of them, in fact, had picked Harry Hill’s bland show to be the best of the best...

The BBC Keeps Getting Into Hot Water. But Still Manages To Stay Dry

The BBC Keeps Getting Into Hot Water. But Still Manages To Stay Dry

Another overpaid and overrated BBC presenter, this time from Radio 1, has apologised for his offensive remarks about Polish women. He was supposed to have said the following: ‘I’ve always found in my experience that prostitutes make very good cleaners and their ironing is brilliant. I just find if you’re Polish you’re just very good at ironing… and prostitutes (they’re) very good also at fixing cars.’ First of all, this pathetic drivel reveals that Moyles, who is paid an astonishing 650 grand a year for his abysmal morning show on Radio 1, has no sense of humour at all and talks like a village idiot. Secondly, he seems to be hanging out with prostitutes, who obviously prefer to clean his house, iron his shirts and fix his car instead of demeaning themselves...
